ElectriCAD and the other electrical plan tools

ElectriCAD draws the floor plan and the single-line diagram of an installation, linked through the circuits, in the browser of a computer or a tablet. Other tools do all or part of this work. Here are the main kinds, and our comparisons.
How we compare. Every fact about another tool comes from its official website, read on the date shown at the top of the page, and the source page is named. Every fact about ElectriCAD comes from the application and its help centre, in French and Dutch.

The kinds of tools
Software installed on the computer. For example Trikker, Listrik or Schematicals. The software is installed on a computer and the file is drawn there.
Specialised online software. For example SUPLAN or PlanElec. Like ElectriCAD, they open in the browser and target Belgian installations.
Single-line diagram generator. For example eendraadschema.app or PlanElektra. They produce a single-line diagram.
Technical drawing software. For example AutoCAD LT or QElectroTech. Drawing tools used far beyond the electrical plan of a building.
Drawing service. For example Skema. You send the details of the installation, the service draws the file.
Floor plan survey app. For example magicplan. Rooms are surveyed on a tablet or phone, for every trade.
Manufacturer tool. For example Schneider eDesign or Hager Ready. They put together the distribution board with the brand's equipment.
Quotes assisted by artificial intelligence. For example Sparkling. It starts from the site survey to prepare the quote.
No software. Paper, spreadsheet, Visio or Paint.
